Just a quick note before we get started…the color in the bottle shot isn’t quite right. The wine is more vibrant pink with a lovely lilac hue.

Lot 43 2025 Rosé of Pinot Noir is sourced from Secret Hill, my vineyard in the Petaluma Gap AVA. Thankfully, all the fruit is under contract, but this year we decided to produce a couple hundred gallons of Rosé of Pinot Noir at a high-end custom crush facility to see what the vineyard could do.

The results are incredibly promising and I am excited to get this into your hands. The wine is gorgeous, absolutely angelic, with one of the most beautiful bouquets you’ll experience. It occurred to me that now I know why Château d’Esclans originally named their rosé Whispering Angel—when you get it right, the results are simply angelic. You’ll see what I mean when you try it.

And I have more good news: this wine would easily command a $30–$40 price tag in the marketplace but, after the farming costs, custom crush and tiny lot bottling, I am basically giving it away at $129/case. Consider it a late Christmas gift 🙂

🍓 Tasting Notes

The bouquet is beautiful and elegant, featuring an angelic tapestry of cotton candy and powdery pink rose petals haloing pastille framboise and lemon drop candy, with subtle hints of grapefruit and cherry as the bouquet complexes.

The wine is racy and mouthwatering on entry with pretty raspberry and cherry notes beautifully attenuated over crystalline, lemonhead-crusted acidity. Super zippy, fresh, nuanced, and very complex, Lot 43 combines perfectly ripe fruit with brilliant, mouthwatering acidity. YUM.

Only about 100 cases were produced, making this the inaugural vintage of Secret Hill Rosé of Pinot Noir.
