Remember the “Beguiling. Intense. Fantastic.” Lot 39 2024 Alexander Valley Malbec, “one of the most expensive Malbec’s in Alexander Valley”?
Well, it’s back!
Lot 95 2025 Alexander Valley Malbec comes from the same producer and it every bit as good as the 2024. We have a good relationship, and they’ll keep the wine in barrel through harvest and we’ll bottle in November/December time frame.
I haven’t changed much from the original write-up, just a few changes to the tasting notes. The wines are very similar and equivalent quality.
Tasting Notes
This is a mailing list only offering, selling for well over $100/bottle (and I mean well over), with the producers Cab’s running from $200+ to almost $400/bottle so, yeah, the pedigree is there.
Just trust me on this one folks. Intense, complex and vivacious with beautiful balance and freshness, this is a supremely compelling and gorgeous wine you don’t want to miss.

Vibrant, saturated purple in the glass. The bouquet is intense and beguiling, redolent with blackberry pie, crushed raspberries and chocolate covered cherry haloed with liquid violet notes, sweet tobacco leaf, Sichuan peppercorn and a pungent underpinning of cedary, toasty French Oak (50% new). The bouquet is super-sexy, exquisite and insanely complex, alone worth the price of entry. I could stick my nose in here all day. Robust on entry, with a meaty, dense structure carrying gobs of ripe boysenberry and blackberry lifted with crushed raspberry notes that give the wine terrific tension, energy and freshness. Silky, perfectly integrated tannins caress the palate with velvety texture and a long, persistent finish. Ab Fab.
